Ganei Beantown: Beantown Jewish Gardens is excited to convene the 7th annual Boston Jewish Food Conference on Sunday June 10th, 2018 at Temple Israel in Boston. More than 200 attendees of all ages attended last year.

Our conference will foster new dynamics and connections within the Jewish community by utilizing food and agriculture to discuss the intersections of justice, sustainability, and culture against a background of Jewish traditions and contemporary life. The day includes multiple workshops in the kitchen and classroom, and culminates in a community Shuk (marketplace), with do-it-yourself activities, advocacy opportunities, tabling by community organizations, our silent auction, and features a kosher, vegetarian meal.

Our theme this year is Living Off the Land. As Jews, we have historical roots in the land and a contemporary reputation as “people of the book.” How do we reconcile that? From agricultural best-practices to holiday celebrations and family stories, our ties to place and culture bind us together. Join us as we grow our relationship with the land, and with each other. We’ll delve into our spiritual connection, as well as practical strategies to help us be better stewards of Creation.
